newbb电子平台 offers interdisciplinary graduate study in 分子 & 细胞生物学. The departments of 生物科学, Biomedical Sciences, 化学 & 生物化学, and 环境 & 植物生物学 contribute dynamic faculty and access to world-class research facilities to provide students with the broadest scientific 教育 opportunities.

The program offers the Ph.D. in a broad range of areas in molecular and cellular biology catered to student and faculty interests. MCB graduate students are eligible to earn a graduate certificate in Bioinformatics during their study at newbb电子平台. A core curriculum has been developed with course offerings in MCB, 生物科学, 化学 & 生物化学, 植物生物学, and Computer Science.

Career Opportunities 

A large majority of the graduates move on to post-doctoral training in universities and research institutions, with some graduates taking employment in biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries.In addition, some graduates have followed a career more focused on teaching at the university level.

Students must be simultaneously admitted into both the MCB program and a home department—生物科学, 化学 & 生物化学, or 环境 & 植物生物学. Each of the home departments participates in programs of study leading to the Ph.D. degree, with its own requirements for admission and graduation. 

Bioinformatics Certificate

MCB graduate students are eligible to earn a graduate Bioinformatics Certificate during their study at newbb电子平台. A core curriculum has been developed with course offerings in the MCB, 生物科学, 化学 & 生物化学, 植物生物学, and Computer Science. Details can be found in the newbb电子平台 研究生 Catalog.

The Interdisciplinary 研究生 Program in 分子 and 细胞生物学 is committed to provide students with one on one faculty mentoring and cutting-edge scientific, 教育, and research opportunities in molecular and cellular biology. Our graduates will be leaders in interdisciplinary approaches to solving key problems in molecular and cellular biology.

  • 研究生s will be accomplished communicators of scientific knowledge in both written and oral forms to both scientific and lay audiences.
